Getting there
Drive 10 km from Taupō through Acacia Bay and take Mapara road. Turn off into Whakaipo Bay at the DOC signpost. Drive down a well-maintained pumice road to the camping area.

Certified self-contained vehicles only: No camping in tents or other vehicles. The facilities are not adequate to support campers who are not self-contained.
