About Allans Beach Walk
Allans Beach Walk covers 0.3 km, near Port Chalmers in Otago, walked as a track.
A short walk across farmland and dunes to Allans Beach, a wild sandy beach on the Otago Peninsula near Dunedin. The beach is a haul-out and breeding spot for New Zealand sea lions and little penguins/korora, so dogs must be kept on a lead. (Track is managed by Dunedin City Council; there is no dedicated doc.govt.nz page.)
It sits at the easy end and barely climbs, and takes about 3m to walk.
Dogs are welcome here on the lead.
