Golden Progress Mine Track is a track of 0.8 km, near Otematata in Otago.
A short walk to the historic Golden Progress gold mine near Oturehua in Central Otago, home to New Zealand's only surviving intact poppet head (mine winding gear) and other 1870s gold-mining relics. It is reached by a signposted spur off the Otago Central Rail Trail.
Expect easy, near-level going, and takes about 10m to walk.
Dogs are allowed off the lead on this one.
