About Mount Isobel Track
This moderate-length track follows 3.7 km as a track, near Hanmer in Canterbury.
The most popular route to the summit of Mt Isobel (1324 m) in Hanmer Forest Park, climbing through forested lower slopes into subalpine terrain to a rocky, exposed trig-marked top with wide views over the Hanmer Basin.
It sits at the easy end and barely climbs, and takes about 44m to walk.
Dogs are allowed off the lead on this one.
