About this campsite
This is a standard campsite in the Kapiti region. Camp near the Waiotauru River close to walks and tramping in the Tararua Forest Park.
The campsite is an open grassy field directly adjacent to the Waiotauru River . There is a small cooking shelter, flush toilets, good river swimming , and at the start of a number of day walks and longer overnight tramps . The campsite is on the Te Araroa Trail. No rubbish facilities are provided at this campsite. You need to take all your rubbish with you when you leave.

Getting there
1 km south of Ōtaki, turn into Ōtaki Gorge Rd. The campsite is 19 km east of Ōtaki township. Ōtaki Gorge Rd is a narrow gravel lane in places.
