Camp near an old gold mining settlement and a seal colony. Tracks lead to historic suction and bucket dredges, and Galway Beach.

From Fox Glacier Weheka township turn onto Cook Flat Road and follow the road for 21 km to Gillespies Beach. Over half of the journey is on narrow, gravel road. Keep left and keep your speed to a minimum. Not suitable for campervans or caravans.
