Most of these have no fencing statement at all. That is the honest state of the record, not a gap we have papered over: councils publish where dogs may go off the lead far more often than they publish whether the place is enclosed. Where a page says nothing, we say nothing, and you should walk in on the lead and look.

41 hectares of open space and pine trees, one of Taupō's largest reserves, with a doggy water fountain. Not fenced, so recall matters: the river is one boundary and the road side is open. The council gates the main vehicle entrance off Spa Road between 8pm and 7am. Dogs may not go on the sports field or the playground.
Taupō District Council Control of Dogs Bylaw 2021, Second Schedule (b): 'Spa Thermal Park (excluding children's play equipment area)' is a dog exercise area where dogs may be off the lead 'provided such dogs are kept under the continued control of person responsible for the dog(s)'. The council lists the fenced part of Spa Park as a separate item, 'Spa Park, fenced area on County Ave', and gives the main park no fencing statement. A pack member (Emma and Baxter, Aug 2026) confirms it is open: the Waikato River on one side, a sports field on another, the rest set back from the road but unfenced. Sports fields and the playground are no-dog areas at all times under the First Schedule.
Not one we can confirm. None of the 11 dog parks we hold near Taupō carry a council statement that the whole area is fenced. One is described as part fenced, or have a fence line mapped with nothing confirming it encloses the dog area. Walk in on the lead and look before you unclip.
