Christchurch City Council’s own wording: “Christchurch City Council: 'Dogs are prohibited on Governors Bay foreshore area and mudflats to protect wildlife values.' (Dog Control Policy 2025, Schedule 1, Governor's Bay mudflats.) The trail touches that mapped area in two short places, on the gravel foreshore track near the jetty and again at the head of the bay, so keep the dog on the formed track there and off the tidal flats”.
