About this campsite
Enjoy the picturesque campsite above the Tauwharenīkau River set in regenerating bush. Walk the Tauwharenīkau Gorge Track or cool off with a swim in the river.
Camp at the road end or walk approx 150 m along the track to a grassy area amongst trees.

Address: Bucks Road, Underhill Rd, Tararua Forest Park 5773 15 minutes from Featherston, via Wakefield St, Underhill Rd then Bucks Rd to end. 5 km of gravel with steep sections.

Before you go
There is no longer access to the river bed via the Middle track at the northwest end of the carpark due to the end point being washed away. The site is very exposed in strong winds.
