Waipā District Council’s own wording: “Waipā Dog Control Bylaw 2023, Schedule One lists as dog prohibited areas 'John Kerkhof Park Cambridge Soccer Grounds, Vogel Street (excludes town belt pedestrian circuit track corridor which is dog on lead)' and 'Cambridge Athletic and Harrier Club grounds, Vogel Street (excludes town belt pedestrian circuit track corridor which is dog on lead)'. The prohibition covers the club playing grounds in the middle of the park, and the green belt circuit track is the corridor the bylaw excludes, so keep your dog on lead on the track and off the soccer and athletics grounds either side of it. Dogs are prohibited at "Cambridge Rugby Sub-Union grounds, Taylor Street" (Waipa District Council Dog Control Bylaw 2023, Schedule One: Dog Prohibited Areas). The green belt path runs along the southern edge of those grounds, between the playing fields and Taylor Street, and the council's mapped block reaches the kerb, so roughly 590 m of this walk sits inside it. Unlike the two Vogel Street entries in the same schedule, which are qualified "(excludes town belt pedestrian circuit track corridor which is dog on lead)", the Taylor Street entry carries no corridor exclusion, so keep your dog on lead, keep off the fields, and follow the signs on the ground”.
