About Catchpool Tawa Grove Walk
This short track follows 0.5 km as a loop, near Wainuiomata in Wellington.
A short, wheelchair-accessible walk in the Catchpool Valley day area of Remutaka Forest Park near Wellington, winding through tawa and mature podocarp forest beside Catchpool Stream. Dogs are welcome on a lead in this part of the valley (but not in the Turere kiwi zone).
It sits at the easy end and barely climbs, and takes about 5m to walk.
Dogs are welcome here on the lead. DOC’s own wording: “Dogs must be kept on a leash except in the dog exercise area opposite the Catchpool Centre and in the [dog exercise] areas in the south of the Catchpool valley. Dogs are not permitted in the Turere catchment kiwi zone.”.
