Mackenzie District Council’s own wording: “Off-leash permitted: the recreation land between Max Smith Drive and the lake is a designated dog exercise area under the Mackenzie District Dog Control Policy 2021, with dogs under effective control and a leash carried. Max Smith Drive itself, including berms and carparks, is on-leash, and dogs must stay clear of playgrounds and within 10 metres of any sports field in use”.
