About Moeraki Valley Track
Moeraki Valley Track covers 10.6 km, near Lake Moeraki in West Coast.
Runs up the Moeraki (Blue) River from Windbag Saddle on SH6 toward the river flats, with multiple unbridged crossings that flood quickly in rain. DOC requires a dog permit for the whole area and codes it as the hunting-dog permit. The mapped line here is DOC’s schematic one, so treat it as a guide to where the track goes, not a navigation aid.
Graded hard, it climbs about 254 m overall, and takes about 2 hr 32 to walk.
