Christchurch City Council’s own wording: “Christchurch City Council, Dog Control Policy 2025, Schedule 1 (Misty Peaks Reserve, Aylmers Valley): "Dogs must be on a leash on the walking track to Newton's Waterfall, and are prohibited elsewhere in the reserve to protect wildlife and grazing stock." CCC's own track page says simply "Must be leashed". On this walk the reserve starts where the track leaves the Aylmers Valley Road end and runs to the falls; stay on that track with your dog on the lead, because the grazed reserve either side of it is closed to dogs”.
