About Lake Roxburgh Walkway: Butchers Point to Doctors Point
This long track follows 5.1 km as an out-and-back, near Alexandra in Otago.
The advanced upper section of the Lake Roxburgh Walkway near Alexandra, a rough 4-7 hour return tramp over rocky, exposed terrain with steep drop-offs. It passes extensive historic gold-mining relics including the Maltese Cross cottage and Blackman's Cave.
It sits at the moderate end and gains roughly 14 m, pitching up to 4 % at its steepest, and takes about 1h 2m to walk.
Dogs are welcome here.
