The 30 dog-friendly beach walks we have mapped around Canterbury, each with its dog rule, the swim, and the nearest place to stay. Beaches are the first places councils restrict dogs over summer, so the seasonal rules matter here more than anywhere.
Beach dog rules often change with the season. Many councils switch beaches to no dogs over summer, usually daytime hours from about Labour Weekend to the end of February. We map the ones we have confirmed:
